The University of Ibadan has rejected a proposal to rename Nnamdi Azikiwe Hall to Akintola Hall.

According to Diaspora digital media (DDM) reports, the university emphasized that naming decisions are based on historical recognition rather than ethnic considerations.

A social media discussion initiated the proposal to change the hall’s name.
