WHY I STEPPED DOWN AS LAGOS SPEAKER – MERANDA

The immediate past Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mojisola Meranda, has explained why she opted to resign from the role.

In a speech on Monday, Meranda stated that her decision was driven by the need to preserve the integrity of the legislative institution.

Meranda, who assumed the position of Speaker on 13th January 2025, explained that her tenure was disrupted by leadership disputes that threatened the unity of the House.

She reaffirmed her commitment to continue serving the people of Apapa Constituency 1 and Lagos State at large.
