I REMAIN LAGOS ASSEMBLY SPEAKER – MUDASHIRU OBASA
Impeached Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has insisted that he remains the rightful speaker of the assembly based on constitutional provisions.
Obasa made th we declaration on Saturday in Ikeja GRA during a welcome event organized in his honour by supporters from Agege, Alimosho, and Kosofe local government areas.
Obasa was removed from office by his colleagues in the House over allegations of gross misconduct and financial mismanagement.
Addressing his removal, Obasa argued that the process did not follow constitutional procedures.
He, however, stated that he would accept his removal if it was carried out in accordance with constitutional guidelines.
“I was Speaker for 10 years, if I’m no longer wanted, from Allah we come and to him, we shall return but you cannot impeach a speaker with a fake mace.”
