DOZENS KILLED, OTHERS INJURED AS SOLDIERS CLASH WITH GUNMEN IN IMO

A violent clash between soldiers and armed gunmen in Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State has left many Dead and others injured.

The shootout took place late last night.

The fight took place in the Aba branch area, with sources confirming that several soldiers were attacked and killed by the armed group.

A witness told reports that the situation quickly spiraled out of control, turning the entire area into a battlefield.

“Some non-state actors attacked and killed some soldiers in the area yesterday,” one source explained. “The whole place is on fire, and troops have taken over nearby communities”

Residents, fearing for their lives, fled their homes as the sounds of heavy gunfire filled the night. Some families left in haste, unsure if or when they could return to their homes. “We are terrified,” said one resident, who asked not to be named. “The sound of gunfire is still echoing in our ears. We don’t know what will happen next.We are worried, Ehime used to be a serene environment, we dont know what is happening.”

There has been no official statement yet from either the police or military authorities, as of press time.
