NSUKKA COLLECTIVES WARN HIM NWOBODO, SAY HE IS FACE OF DISUNITY IN ENUGU STATE
The Nsukka Collectives has reacted to the warning issued by the former governor of old Anambra State, Senator Jim Nwobodo, to the Senator -elect for Enugu North Senatorial Zone, blaming Chief Nwobodo, who has now turned to Nkanu irredentist for causing the political hardship being suffered in Enugu State over the years.
National Patron of Nsukka Collectives, Chief Patrick Eya, who responded to Nwobodo’s vituperations against Okey Ezea, said the former governor of old Anambra State should come down from his high horse of arrogating to himself, the power of imposing one Nkanu man, after the other, as the governor of Enugu people and face the reality that he has become the face of disunity in the once peaceful capital of the Eastern Region.
According to Eya, Nkanu which is a minority community in Enugu State has produced Nwobodo as the governor of old Anambra State and Chimaroke Nnamani as governor of Enugu State but Nwobodo wants Nkanu to produce the third governor in the person of Peter Mbah, who was detained for 10 months alongside Chimaroke Nnamani over alleged embezzlement of billions of Enugu money during the infamous regime of Nnamani.
His words, “Jim Nwobodo, under whose regime, kidnapping (of Vincent Ikeotuonye) came into Nigeria’s dictionary is the real face of disunity and acrimony in the once peaceful Enugu State.
“Jim (James) Nwobodo, apart from himself, an Nkanu man nominated and imposed Chimaroke Nnamani whose regime recorded 38 unresolved murders in Enugu State.
Nwobodo has not apologised to the people of Enugu State over the hardship and murder among other heinous crimes witnessed within the period, instead, he wants to impose Nnamani’s man- Friday during the period to complete the complete destruction of Enugu State.
“The people of Nsukka will not forget in.a hurry the number of people killed or number of cars burnt in a state- sponsored terror against them at late Okafor Omeh’s house in Enugu Ezike to provide Hon Fidel Ayogu from challenging Chimstoke Nnamani in the governorship election then.
“Jim Nwobodo, his brother, Ik Nnamani, a military officer who served as a member of the late Sani Abacha’s military ruling council, connived to severe Isi- Uzo, from Nsukka Zone to make up the two senatorial zones which the old Enugu now is, and decided to make Isi- Uzo slaves of Nkanu people.
“Jim Nwobodo has not reacted to the brutal murder of an illustrious Nkanu man, Barr Oyibo Chukwu for supporting Chijioke Edeoga in the Labour Party, but is warning Okey Ezea for warning that anybody who rigs the governorship and house of Assembly elections on March 11, will be dealt with. Jim Nwobodo is against Chijioke Jonathan Edeoga of the Labour Party, simply because he is from Isi- Uzo.
The people of Nsukka and other parts of Enugu State, who are “Obideint” will vote enmasse for Labour Party candidates on March 11, 2023. We do not wish to witness another four years of brigandage, murder, looting among other criminal activities in Enugu State.
The Nsukka Collectives, therefore, urge the people of Enugu State and other residents to vote for the Labour Party candidates to help Peter Obi, so that he will enjoy his tenure when he recovers his stolen mandate.
Nkanu people should join other Enugu people and vote for Edeoga, a fine gentleman on March 11, 2023.
Addressing a new conference in his country home Amechi, Nwobodo had Ezea was beating drums of war over who becomes the next governor of the state noting that, that could only lead to unimaginable but avoidable consequences.
The former governor’s call followed a statement credited to Ezea, who in a viral video, had said that the March 11 governorship election in the state would be a do-or-die affair.
Nwobodo, who described the remark as inciting, said it portends looming danger in the polity, adding that it was shocking for such comments to emanate from someone who won an election through the ballot.
“I was shocked that somebody, who has just been elected to represent his people at the National Assembly could make such an inciting statement while addressing a gathering of his people.
“He was inciting the good people of Nsukka against the people of Nkanu, literally drumming up war on the day of the next election.
“First, I want to plead with the peace-loving people of Nkanu not to react violently to the unprovoked statement. The people of Nsukka are our brothers and sisters and not our enemies. As a governor of Old Anambra State, I had a very good relationship with Nsukka, and they were my great supporters.
“Peter Mbah is seeking to be governor of Enugu State made of Enugu North, Enugu West, and Enugu East, and not the governor of Nkanu”, Nwobodo said.
