ENUGU COMMUNITY PASSES VOTE OF CONFIDENCE ON TOWN UNION, IGWE-ELECT
The Akama Oghe Community in Ezeagu Local Government Area of Enugu State has passed a vote of confidence on the leadership of its Town Union as well as on the Igwe-Elect of the Community, Chief Onyeka Ofodile.
In a statement signed by leaders of the three villages of Akama Oghe, Chief Ifeanyi Okeke and Comrade Adolphus Aboefi for Isiokwe Village; Hon. Sam Okafor and Chief Billy Emeka Ejiofor for Imama Akama Village as well as Sir Anthony Eze and Hon. Onyekachi Ndum for Enugu N’Agbani Village at the end of an emergency General Assembly meeting held on Sunday June 20, 2021, the people said they were satisfied with the way the Town Union was handling the affairs of the Community.
The people expressed satisfaction with the transparent manner the Town Union was handling the current land sharing exercise to all adult males of Akama Oghe, as well as the development activities in the Community, in particular, the permanent site of Government Technical College (GTC), Akama Oghe, and the fencing of Akama Oghe Town Hall, and urged the Town Union not to relent.
Akama Oghe people reaffirmed their confidence on Chief Onyeka Ofodile who was elected Traditional Ruler of the Community and the result of the election submitted to the Enugu State Ministry of Chieftaincy by the Ezeagu Local Government Council since April 2019, and appealed to Enugu State Government to issue Certificate of Recognition to Chief Onyeka Ofodile to enable him begin to perform his functions in accordance with the Enugu State Chieftaincy Law.
The General Assembly also expressed support with the use of dialogue and consultations adopted by the Town Union to resolve the crisis in the Community and aligned itself with the advice by His Execellency, Executive Governor of Enugu State, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, that all cases in court involving the Community be withdrawn for peace to reign.
Akama Oghe people pledged their unallowed support to the Government of His Execellency, Executive Governor of Enugu State, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, and wished him God’s guidance and good health to enable him continue with his good works in Enugu State.
