PDP CRISIS CAUSED BY GOVS, NOT EXTERNAL FORCES – ABBA MORO

The Senate Minority Leader, Abba Moro, has attributed the ongoing instability within political parties especially the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the actions of party members themselves, rather than outside forces.

In an interview on ARISE News on Thursday, Moro argued that the recurring crises affecting the PDP and similar parties are largely self-inflicted. He pointed out that key figures such as governors, lawmakers, and party leaders play a central role in creating and worsening these issues.

“I believe the responsibility lies mainly with political actors,” he said, explaining that the visible turmoil within parties stems from their own internal dynamics.

He further emphasized that those in leadership positions, including elected officials and senior party figures, bear the greatest responsibility for the situation.

Addressing reports of divisions within the PDP, Moro rejected claims that the party is split into factions, maintaining that it remains a single, unified entity.

There is only one PDP,” he stated firmly.

Moro also reflected on earlier internal conflicts, particularly the controversial convention held in Ibadan. He noted that the event intensified the party’s challenges because it was conducted despite an existing court order prohibiting it.

According to him, the Court of Appeal later ruled the convention invalid, nullifying its outcomes.
