The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Enugu State has demanded the resignation of the National Organising Secretary (NOS), Prince Chinedu Idigo, over his alleged involvement in anti-party activities.
This is amid the controversial de-recognition of the national leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) led by Senator David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola as chairman and secretary respectively, by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC),
The Enugu ADC stakeholders while re-affirming their support for the David Mark leadership, stated “that ADC has no factions at the national level, but moles being used by external forces to truncate the party.”
Addressing the media in Enugu, a member of the National Working Committee, Kenneth Okonkwo, accused the National Organising Secretary, Prince Chinedu Idigo, of complicity in a plot by a former Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Okwesilieze Nwodo, to take over the structure of ADC in the state and use it to work for the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) during the 2027 general election.
Okonkwo insisted that Idigo must resign or be removed immediately, before he compromises everything about ADC in Enugu State, to ensure that the ruling APC faces no opposition in the state.
The National Ex-officio member described Nwodo and Idigo as alleged moles in the ADC, working to hijack the party structure, to use it to deliver Governor Peter Mbah and every other APC candidate in Enugu State during the 2027 general election.
Okonkwo said, “Everybody in Nigeria now knows that APC wants to destroy ADC using the instrumentality of the governmental institutions and also using some moles within the ADC.

“You know that intimate enemies are more powerful than even the external enemies. As you are aware, we have already slated this period for our congresses and I am here as a member of the NWC to ensure that the congresses are going in line with our constitution, rules and regulation, because when other people are attacking you, you must ensure that everything you are doing is in order.
“I am very unhappy that I am not in Abuja now. We are supposed to be participating in the protest over the de-recognition of our national leadership by INEC. As you know, we were surprised that the Enugu State ADC Chairman, Stella Chukwuma, joined some other chairmen to say they are now part of a group that I do not know which place they belong.
ADC does not have any faction. What we have is moles that are being used to know whether they can truncate ADC, because APC does not want election in 2027. They know that if they can destroy ADC, Tinubu will run unopposed. So there is nothing like faction in ADC.”
Speaking further, Okonkwo accused Idigbo of becoming a tool in the hands of APC, trying to truncate the ADC in Enugu State.
He said: “It is unfortunate that even within the highest level of people who are claiming to be leaders in ADC, some of them are working for APC. I know of Okwesilieze Nwodo, who is claiming that he came into ADC on December 31, 2025.
“But I can assure you now that he is working for APC and he is working hard to take over the structure of ADC in Enugu state in order to use it to work for APC. On January 4, 2026, Okwesilieze had a meeting in his house where he summoned ADC members and told them that they are going to work for APC in Enugu State. He said that they are going to deliver everybody, from the governor to every APC candidate in Enugu state during the 2027 general election.
“And what they want to do is to remove every ADC legacy member in Enugu State. So, in the purported forms for the convention, they will say that no ADC legacy member is part of it. And Nwodo is using, unfortunately, the National Organising Secretary of ADC to see how he will actualise this plot.
“With me here are three different letters of congress committee members issued by the National Organising Secretary within 48 hours. Look at his signature. And this has thrown the whole Enugu State ADC into confusion, because we do not even know which congress committee is organising the congress.
“And what Prince Idigo does is that whenever he writes one, he will go and ask them if it will be okay to help them to deliver the structure to Okwesilieze Nwodo, and he will write another one. I won’t be surprised if another one will come before this night. So, Prince Chinedu Idigo has become a tool in the hand of APC, trying to truncate ADC in Enugu state.”
He continued: “None of the people Nwodo nominated is known to APC in Enugu. You can see that they have even nominated one person with a foreign number who lives abroad for the past 40 years.
