PDP CRISIS: WIKE-BACKED FACTION RE-ELECTS ABDULRAHMAN AS NATIONAL CHAIRMAN

A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) aligned with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has re-elected Abdulrahman Mohammed as its National Chairman.

Abdulrahman, who hails from Nasarawa State in the North Central zone, previously served as Acting National Chairman of the faction’s National Caretaker Committee.

The faction also filled other key positions within its National Working Committee (NWC) through a consensus arrangement.

Aaron Chukwuemeka was elected Deputy National Chairman (South), while Yusufu Nyakiriken, SAN, emerged as Deputy National Chairman (North).

Samuel Anyanwu was returned as National Secretary, with Kolawale Olabisi elected as National Treasurer. Odeyemei Mackson Oladiran was named Deputy National Treasurer, and Lado Dan Marke emerged as National Financial Secretary.

Kamaldeen Ajibade was elected National Legal Adviser, while Jungudo Haruna Mohammed assumed the role of National Publicity Secretary. Umar Bature retained his position as National Organising Secretary.

In total, 21 members of the NWC were elected by consensus and subsequently sworn in.

Prominent party stakeholders at the event included former Senate President Bukola Saraki; former Governors Sule Lamido (Jigawa), Ibrahim Dankwambo (Gombe), Samuel Ortom (Benue), and Ayo Fayose (Ekiti).

Others in attendance included Senate Minority Leader Abba Moro; former Senator Mao Ohuabunwa; and Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, among others.
