Nigeria’s national grid has announced a further drop in electricity generation, indicating that power supply across the country may face additional pressure.
The update was shared on Friday through the official X account of the national grid, where it alerted the public to the latest development in generation levels.
In the short notice posted online, the grid simply stated: “THE POWER GENERATION HAS DEGRADED EVEN MORE!”
Meanwhile, the latest update follows recent disruptions to the country’s power system, as Tribune Online reported that Nigeria’s national power grid collapsed again in January, marking the second system failure recorded in 2026 and triggering a nationwide blackout.
