The revered monarch of the Benin Kingdom, Oba Ewuare II, has openly expressed deep admiration for the detained IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, describing him as “a man history will never forget.”
In a statement, in Benin, Oba Ewuare says,
“I am witnessing history unfold before my eyes. A man like Nnamdi Kanu still walks this earth — a man who placed the liberation of his people above his own bl00dline. Such men are rare,” the Oba declared.
“If you can show me any man in Africa who has sacrif!ced his own mother and father for the freed0m of his people the way Nnamdi Kanu has, I will immediately step down as the Oba of Benin!”
For years, critics and political opponents have hurled countless accusations at the Biafran agitator.
They said “Igbos love money” — yet Nnamdi Kanu proved them wrong.
They claimed “the South-East and South-South can never unite” — yet Kanu built a bridge no politician could build.
They m0cked him, saying “he will abandon Biafra once he cashes out” — yet he remains in detention despite an alleged ₦500 billion offer to drop his struggle.
They insisted “Igbos don’t love themselves” — yet Nnamdi Kanu’s sacrifice has become a symbol of Igbo unity and resilience.
“You can imprison a man, but not his vision,” the Oba added. “Kanu’s name will echo in the hearts of generations yet unborn.”
