The chairman.of Progressive Governors Forum and Governor of Imo State, Hope Uxodinma, has said that his conviction that the South East must align politically with the federal government was anchored on the need to drive home developmental initiatives that could empower the region’s economy and guarantee sustainable growth
Speaking at Michael Okpara Square in Enugu on Tuesday, when Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, formally joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), Governor Uzodinma said it gladdened his heart to witness a lot of people in Enugu State now joining the APC.
In the same vein, in a post via his social media page, former Enugu governor, Sullivan Chime, said defection was not an act of betrayal.
According to him, “political realignment is not betrayal; it is the courage to follow vision when old paths can no longer carry the dream.”
Recall that Chime had eft the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for APC shortly after the end of his second term as governor of Enugu State in 2016.
During his defection, the former governor described PDP as a “dead party” following a leadership crisis that engulfed the party.
