The President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide Senator John Azuta Mbata, has asked every Igbo resident in any part of Nigeria to go and ensure that he or she is registered to participate in the 2027 general election and other elections.

In a video, Mbata release on Thursday, he said that the federal government has no advantage in still keeping the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, in it’s custody.

In the short video, Mbata said “This is Senator John Azuta Mbata, the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide.

“I’m calling on Ndigbo Nile, wherever you are wherever you are in Nigeria, to quickly go and take the advantage of the voter registration exercise that is going on right now. Ejikwen’ya gwegwu, go and get your card as quickly as possible.

“Secondly, I’d like to call on the President of the Federal government of Nigeria to quickly release Nnamdi Kanu. The government has no serious advantage in keeping him. It is important that the government ensures his safety and his welfare. And government must allow to go and get medical treatment as quickly as possible.

“The government must adopt political solution to this situation. I do not believe that that the government has any serious advantage in keeping him further.

Thank you very much.”
