PDP ANNOUNCES CHANGE OF VENUE OF BoT MEETING AS SECURITY OPERATIVES ORDER MEMBERS OUT OF HALL
The People Democratic Party, PDP, has announced the change of the venue for its Board of Trustees, BoT, meeting.
This was disclosed in a post on the party’s official X handle on Monday.
“The Meeting of the Board of Trustees, BoT, Meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, earlier scheduled to hold by 10Am at the Party’s National Secretariat in Abuja has been moved to Yar’Adua Center, Central Business District, Abuja.
“All BOT members are by this notice advised to proceed to the new venue,” the post read.
Earlier, a former secretary of the Party, Ibrahim Tsauri, had told the media that security operatives had taken over the secretariat where the meeting was billed to hold
He said the policemen at the venue claimed they had received an “order from above” to seal off the location of the NEC meeting, which was to be preceded by the BOT meeting at Wadata House, now heavily guarded by security operatives.
Tsauri said: “The policeman told me, ‘There is an order from above to stop the meeting.’ This meeting is scheduled for 1 p.m. I came here for the meeting, so for me, I can only brief you on the politics.
“Since they have stopped the BOT, I do not know if they can hold the NEC,” Tsauri added.
