MY FATHER MARRIED 30 WIVES – MKO ABIOLA’S SON SPEAKS ON HIS WILL

Abdul Mumuni, one of the sons of late MKO Abiola has made revelations into some of the late politician’s family secrets.

Speaking in a video which has gone viral on social media, he talked about his late father’s Will.

Abdul shed light on how his father arranged cash payments for all his over 30 wives, adding that the first wife, Simbiat, got £300,000.

Abdul narrated how Kola and Wuraola Abiola, two of his brothers, acting as self appointed directors, have lifted over 600,000 barrels of oil from their late father’s oil block and neither he nor the other siblings collected any money from the proceeds of the deal.

He detailed how Kola Abiola and his full siblings have allegedly been managing the Abiola Estate like his personal property and none of their other half siblings have ever been consulted.

“Basically, you know, for me, I think every time I do one of these interviews, it’s not necessarily about today, but about what tomorrow could be,” he said.

Asked about his father’s Will, Abdul said, “Like with everything my father did, he was very meticulous in his outlook and approach to everything.

“You know, he was an accountant by trade, as matter of fact, an auditor. And if anybody knows anything about auditors, you know that they’re the one group of accountants that people don’t like, because what they do is they check other people’s work.

“So my father, being an auditor and being an accountant, was very meticulous in everything he did. So, you know, at the time of his passing in 1990s you have to understand that he had been arrested in 94 and he was later on assassinated in 98 and once he was assassinated, you know, my father had a Will and last testimony, you know, and it was very detailed piece of document.

“It was a very detailed piece of document, because what you see, if anybody was to look at the document a little, the document is actually available online, if anybody wanted to check whatever father had put in his Will, what you see is a man who was deliberate, who wanted to ensure that his wealth was divided properly according to his wishes.

“You’ll see that he had specified the wives and the exact amount of money that should be apportioned to each wife.

“He did that basically, what was due the first wife was about $300,000. My mother was apportioned about $150,000 and the third wife was to take about, I think 100,000, just like that.

“And he went down like that. He went to the point that, after he had accounted for all the wives, I think about maybe 30 wives identified, he also accounted for his siblings.

“It was what my father had, if you know, you know, he had a bunch, he had a lot of wives. But then you have to understand that it was also not something that was frowned upon at the time, in the 20th century.

“And so, yeah, so he had 30 wives, and he also identified some of his siblings, and also apportioned funds to them as well.

“So you can see that he was, he was a family man through and through, you know, he identified his family, his wives, he identified his siblings, and some certain people also that he had included in his Will.

“So my father was adamant about certain things, one of which was that anybody who was claiming to be an Abiola would have to go through a blood test, which we had, most of us have done.”

IGBO TOWN UNIONS REJECT FG’S RANCHING PLANS IN SOUTH EAST The Association of Igbo Town Unions (ASITU) has strongly rejected the Federal Government’s plan to acquire land in Imo State and other South East states for the establishment of cattle ranches under the 2025 national budget. The union criticized the move as suspicious, provocative, and unjust, arguing that cattle ranching is a private business and should not be funded by the government. In a statement signed by its National President, Chief Emeka Diwe, ASITU raised concerns over the fairness and legality of the proposal, stating that it discriminates against Igbo traders who must acquire land for their businesses without government support. “Cattle rearing, as a private enterprise, should not be the responsibility of the Nigerian government to fund or manage. It is well established that livestock farming is a private business, and the cattle rearing segment of it is primarily controlled by a specific ethnic group in the country.” The union questioned why the federal government is prioritizing ranching for private cattle owners, while Igbo entrepreneurs in other parts of Nigeria struggle to navigate land acquisition without similar support. ASITU highlighted that states in the South East are already grappling with severe land scarcity, with increasing demands for agriculture, urban development, and infrastructure. Allocating more land for private ranching, particularly for an industry dominated by another ethnic group, is seen as a direct injustice to the people of the region. “Our communities are under pressure to provide land for farming, housing, and development. Using our limited land for private ranches is unfair and unacceptable.” The group also accused the government of insensitivity in pushing forward such policies without considering their impact on the socio-economic well-being of the region. “Igbo Traders Get No Such Support”ASITU further argued that Igbo businessmen operating in other parts of Nigeria face significant hurdles in acquiring land and running their enterprises, often without government assistance. In some cases, land acquired by Igbo traders has been forcefully taken away by certain state governments. “Igbo people doing business across Nigeria go through the rigorous process of acquiring land and establishing their ventures without federal intervention. Why should cattle ranchers get special treatment?” ASITU demanded an immediate halt to the federal government’s ranching initiative in the South East, warning that it could deepen ethnic tensions and marginalization. “This proposed ranching scheme rekindles concerns about the continued marginalization of the Igbo people in Nigeria. The government must stop prioritizing the business interests of one ethnic group at the expense of others.” The union called on the government to focus on policies that promote fairness, economic growth, and national unity, rather than implementing divisive programs that alienate indigenous communities. “The South East deserves better. We will not accept any policy that seeks to take away our land for private interests under any circumstances.”

FUBARA: THE ULTIMATE GOAL IS IMPEACHMENT, NOT PEACE – SHEHU SANI Amid the ongoing political crisis in Rivers State, former federal lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani, has suggested that the “the ultimate goal is impeachment and not peace”. Sani was reacting to the lastest development in the state after Governor Siminalayi Fubara was denied access to the State House of Assembly. “The ultimate goal in Rivers is impeachment and not peace; what happens afterwards is left to God,” Sani said. Fubara was on Wednesday denied access to the Rivers State House of Assembly quarters, where lawmakers were holding plenary sessions. Fubara arrived at the Assembly quarters to present the state 2025 budget but was met with a locked gate, preventing his entry. Recall that the governor had earlier pledged to implement the Supreme Court judgment, which includes the formal presentation of the 2024 budget. Meanwhile Fubara has accused the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Martin Amaewhule of deliberately avoiding him. Fubara said he had called Amaewhule severally before the incident but the Speaker refused to answer.
