ERA OF PARTY POLITICS OVER, NOW FOCUS ON DELIVERY OF DEMOCRACY DIVIDENDS – REPS SUNDAY UMEHA
Member representing Ezeagu/Udi in the House of Representatives, Hon. Sunday Cyriacus Umeha, has said that the era of party politics has gone and that it is now time to focus on delivery of democracy dividends to the people.
Representatives Sunday Umeha spoke at the civic reception and birthday party organised by Ngwo Progressive Assembly for Senator Osita Ngwu, Senator representing Enugu West Senatorial District in the National Assembly.
In his words: “The era of party politics has come and gone. The attendant legal tussle that followed it has also come and gone. It is now time to deliver complete and absolute dividends of democracy and governance to the people of Enugu West, and the people of Udi na Ezeagu”.
Hon. Sunday Umeha told Senator Ngwu to continue to count on his support anyday and anytime “as what binds us together is stronger and greater than the mere social media gossips and political propaganda…”
He extolled the virtues of Senator Ngwu, describing him as a true patriot and visionary leader who meant well for the people of Enugu West Senatorial District, and Enugu State at large.
Hon Sunday Umeha was elected to the House of Representatives on the platform of the Labour Party (LP), while Senator Osita Ngwu, is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Highlight of the events included the cutting of the birthday cake, presentation by Ngwo Progressive Assembly, speech by various local government and Enugu State House of Assembly members, as well as conferment of Chieftaicy Titles “Ike Eji Ejemba” on Senator Osita Ngwu, and “Nwanne Di Na Mba” on the Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Mbah.
The event was attended by members of the National Assembly and some Enugu State House of Assembly members, as well as other dignitaries drawn from the public and private sectors.
